Common Client Blockers

Most stalled requests are operational, not technical.

The top blockers

Wrong contact

The link went to someone without admin permissions.

Fix: redirect the request to the person who can approve access.

Missing context

The client does not know why they are being asked to authorize platforms.

Fix: send a short note that explains the purpose and expected time required.

Platform confusion

The client does not understand the difference between assets, business managers, or account types.

Fix: share the relevant platform guide before asking them to continue.

Incomplete ownership

The client organization itself does not have clean internal control over the account.

Fix: pause escalation to your team until the client resolves ownership internally.

Operational rule of thumb

If a request is blocked for more than two follow-ups, stop repeating the same reminder. Identify whether the blocker is:

  • wrong person,
  • wrong expectation,
  • wrong platform knowledge,
  • or wrong request scope.
